SAIS 2 has opened a call for applications for Southern African Startups looking to internationalise. Applications close on 18 November 2021.

SAIS 2 and the Connected Hubs would like to thank everyone who participated in the call.

The SAIS 2 Connected Hubs network, coordinated by the Southern Africa Innovation Support Programme (SAIS 2), is proud to announce that the BOOST UP startup series will open for applications on 8 May 2020.

While the SAIS 2 Innovation Fund forms the backbone of SAIS 2’s support activities, the programme also relies on training and education to equip its fund-supported projects with the tools they need to succeed.

SAIS 2 hosted 16 delegates from the Connected Hubs for an on-site peer learning session at Botswana Innovation Hub. Siili Solutions facilitated two workshops.

Events are viewed as important platforms to engage, network and grow innovation actors footprints across entrepreneurship ecosystems. High-quality events not only generate awareness of opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators but act as a much-needed catalyst for partnerships and potential investors. SAIS Connected Hubs has developed a resource for addressing the skills gap in event planning for innovation actors and entrepreneurship supporters.

SAIS 2 facilitated a collaboration between the City of Windhoek’s Economic Development Division and Demos Helsinki, a leading think tank from Finland in creating a common vision and roadmap for the implementation of its youth entrepreneurship strategy using Foresight methodology.

SAIS 2 aims to be a platform connecting innovation ecosystems and harnessing the power of open knowledge-sharing among organizations supporting entrepreneurship in Southern Africa.
